Whale Watching ... Finally!!!
Yay! I finally got to see whales! In their natural setting! And I didn't have to travel to the Caribbean to do it!
That is the good news. The bad news is that I came down with a cold the night before we went on this whale watching cruise, and let me tell you, it is difficult to run from one side of a boat to another and back trying to experience a whale sighting when you are sniffling, coughing, and running a fever. But I did it! I finally saw a little tail sticking out of the water, and poofs of water blowing up into the air when they surfaced.
I am still not completely satisfied though. I have heard that sometimes the whales come right up to the boat, or leaping out of the water, cool stuff like that. We didn't see anything even close to that. This reminds me of my goal of visiting Volcanoes National Park ... it was something I was so excited for and it was sort of a letdown. Nonetheless! I technically fulfilled my goal.
I don't have any amazing pictures of whales ... unfortunately they don't pose like Shamu.
