Build-A-Bear Workshop

I just have to say that the woman who came up with the Build-A-Bear concept was a GENIUS. I have walked in a few times just to watch the kids put their bears together, and they always seemed to be having a ball.

I happened to be at the mall and decided I would take the opportunity to build my own little teddy bear. I had already picked out an outfit online (it wasn't available in stores) but I wanted to get my teddy built so I could dress her up.

The woman who stuffed my bear asked me, "So, who are you making this for?" I replied, "Me." She kind of laughed, but she said I wasn't the first.

They stuff the bear to your fluffiness liking, and they give you this little heart that they put in your bear. You rub it between your hands, make a wish, and then give it a kiss before it is placed inside your bear. Yes, I kissed the heart and made a wish -- I wanted the full Build-A-Bear experience!

Then you name your bear and they give you a little birth certificate that says what your teddy's name is, its date of birth, its weight, height, etc. Did I mention that the woman who came up with all this is a genius???

Anyway, my bear is going to have to undergo a name change ... because now I think I want to name her "Holiday" and here is why: 1) I can call her Holly for short, and 2) in homage to her name, I can dress her up in all these different outfits throughout the year, for example, Christmas, Halloween, Easter, Valentine's Day, etc ... you get the idea.

For now, Holiday is hanging out in her "cub house" waiting to be clothed. I will post pictures once she is ready for her public debut...
