Boston

Oh dear blog, how I have neglected you. Now I must vomit up blog entries to make you feel nice, full and updated.

Since I can't remember much of the details that happened (ugh) I am forced to post a portion of a journal entry. Here we go...it is the summer of 2011:

Boston! Land of Paul Revere, the Founding Fathers, and other things we associate with the great U.S.A.
It is about 2:30pm on a sunny Wednesday. Mom is already complaining about the heat. I am feeling blissfully happy how much I have already experienced here...Boston Cream pie where the stuff was invented; a visit to the original bar that inspired the tv show Cheers (see picture above where I am WEARING the Cheers shirt while EATING the Boston Cream Pie).

All of that fun and I haven't even touched on the rich history this place offers. I cried when I saw the monument that honors events depicted in the film "Glory" (listened to the soundtrack while I stood there in fact...love James Horner).

Boston has an interesting vibe to it. Tourists in t-shirts mingle with bankers in suits on the streets in the middle of the historic district. Tour guides, complete with authentic Tricorn hats wander the streets proclaiming tours down the  “Freedom Trail” which is essentially a red brick line running through various parts of Boston, connecting historical sites.

The Granary Burial Ground was fascinating; it really has some background material worthy of the film National Treasure. Unfortunately I left the journal where I talked about THAT stuff in Utah.
